Galeria de Corrales

Our featured artists in March and April are Oil Painter Eric de Boer and Metalworker Sonya Byrnes.

Known for his captivating landscapes, still life and portraits, Eric draws inspiration from everyday objects and people he encounters, whether at home or traveling. He feels right at home in New Mexico, a land filled with spectacular richness of color, light and shadow, the focus of his current works.

Sonya takes scrap metal and creates three dimensional hangings, tabletop and large constructions. Creating art from materials that would otherwise be discarded to pollute the environment is an extra bonus.

We are proud to welcome three new members to the Galeria: Louis LaFrado, Michelle LeMeres and Paula Papponi.

Throughout March and April members of the New Mexico Polymer Clay Guild will display their works at the Galeria.

When you come to the Galeria, please remember to enter your name in our monthly drawing for an original work by one of our talented artists. Galeria Gift Certificates for any amount and Layaway options are also available.

We will be celebrating our latest show with our featured artists, Sylvia Gormley and Rick Snow!  We also have new works on display from all of our gallery artists. 

Sylvia Gormley’s medias are palette-knife Oils, Watermedia and collage paintings, polymer and beaded jewelry and polymer objects such as clocks and mirrors.

Rick Snow’s pottery ranges from functional to whimsical.  It includes ceramic masks, baskets, sculpture, and normal bowls, platters and vases.

Galeria de Corrales is having a very special Memorial Day Weekend Event on May 29th, 30th and 31st, from 10 am – 5pm.

The gallery will be holding a drawing for a free 11×14″ matted giclee print by accomplished oil artist Patricia Ann Massingill. All you have to do is come in, drop your name in the hat and browse through the abounding creativity at your leisure. The gallery represents 16 fine artists whose media includes original paintings, fine art photography, jewelry, sculpture, pottery, weaving, and other unique items.

Come and join the fun! Refreshments will be served and many of the artists will be there to meet you!

The gallery will be hosting an Open House on Saturday, May 1st and Sunday, May 2nd from 10 am – 5 pm to kick off our exhibition running from May 1st through June 30th.  This exibition will highlight our two featured artists, Sherry Gross and Carolyn Maberry.  We will also have new works by all 17 gallery artists.

Sherry’s artwork is a combination of weaving and knitting using fine fibers, ribbons and beads made into unique women’s accessories.

Carolyn’s artwork is a bold and vibrant representation of nature, highlightig the scenes and colors of the Southwest using oils.

We’ve been having fun getting the gallery ready to open!  We’ve been cleaning and painting, hanging lights and building cubes.  We are all looking forward to seeing you for our Grand Opening!
